Shakespeare was born in April of 1564 in the town of Stratford. He lived for 52 years and in that time he accomplished
so much. He wrote 38 plays, 154 sonnets (a few of which may be read on the sonnets page,) and he wrote other poems.
At the age of 18, he married a woman of 26, Anne Hathaway- she was at the time, 3 months pregnant. In 1585, his son
Hamnet died, leaving him no heir. He soon left his family and moved out of Stratford to persue his playwright career.

Inside The Globe Theater
The Globe Theater was one of the newest theaters forming in london. In 1599 Shakespeare became part owner of the
Theater. Many of his play were performed there. During the last preformance, a cannon was set to fire at the end, this
caused the unfortunate event of the whole theater catching on fire. It was burned to the ground. Evenually, a
new theater was built- but none as great as Shakespeare's original Globe Theater!
